Mary cleverly suggested we call our blog “6kids and 6 packs…” Sure!!! We all chimed in. What a great name, great idea, great concept! The one thing missing were MY ABS!
I love to work out. I was working out 5 days every week doing an intense functional fitness workout. I was also training for mud runs, 5k’s, the Tough Mudder race. I knew the abs were under my belly fat…I just had to reveal them!
Lindsay and Mary were determined to change my diet. I needed more “whole foods”, less processed stuff and better calories to get my six pack.
We went through my pantry. They got rid of a lot of stuff. What did they expect me and my three rowdy, growing boys to eat? Goodbye pancake mix, brownie mix, Top Ramen noodles, white flour, Grey Poupon and Goldfish crackers. I kept the Goldfish. They are a daily staple for my 9,7 and 6 year old boys. Here’s me and my belly…
Seriously, Mary and Lindsay raided everything promising whole wheat flour, quinoa, whole oats, real almond butter and organic goodness. I thought, Huh what are you talking about? Really.
Well after only 1 week, my six pack abs began. I am eating 4 servings of fresh vegetables, quinoa or brown rice, lean protein and drinking a gallon of water every day. My layer of fat was really a layer of salt, sugar and preservatives.
Each week my abs look better and better. The clean eating is actually great. I feel great. My allergies are gone. I can’t wait to share more about this journey. What’s lurking in your pantry? Make a small change today! Your abs will thank you!
