Like L, I am a very goal orientated person. I always like to have something to strive for, be it a little thing or a big one. Goals keep me engaged, moving forward and remove limitations that I or other people may have put on myself. I have three goals outlined for the rest of the year :Launch my successful business- DrMaryO’s FitnessStart my holistic nutrition coursePlace in the top 3 in the SheRox Women’s triathlon in San DiegoIn order to succeed at these goals I have to break them down into smaller bite sized goals. First things first- these goals need to be precise, measurable and big enough for me to get excited about them!DrMaryO’s fitness- I am going to successfully have 3 family game nights over the summer which will continue on a 1x/month on Saturdays over the Fall. The purpose of these game nights will be to advertise my services. I want to acquire enough clients/ PE classes to work 10-15 hour a week and earn $1000 per week to start.I have enrolled in my holistic nutrition course, so the hard part is done! The decision to progress and learn has been made. I will spend 8-10 hours per week working on this course and I will enjoy every moment of the learning process.I am really glad I have finally decided to “place” in a triathlon. I have competed in a few over the last 3 years, but didn’t believe enough in myself to think I could earn a top 3 position, now I do! I am an athlete with determination, commitment and the best trainer and training partners anyone could ask for. My swimming is the area with the greatest room for improvement and I am enlisting the help of a friend, who is a US champion diver and swim instructor. I have also joined the local tri club and will swim, run and bike with them. In addition I will do my usual strength training and conditioning 4-5x per week. In order to place I will need to improve my overall time by 15-20 minutes. A big goal. I can do this. I need to improve my swim by 8 minutes, bike by 6 minutes, run by 3 minutes and trim the rest of the time from my transition periods. It’s scary to see it written down…..but I am going to keep visualizing my name in the top 3 and telling myself I can do it! What goals are on your horizon?? Think big and enlist help to get where you want to go. Visualize your goals and don’t let anyone talk you out of them!
