I’m feeling great. I have new habits at night involving more tea and Perrier with no wine/beer! I’m going to my room when I put my 3 boys to bed instead of staying up, having crap and watching mindless TV. So overall I’m loving the Whole 30 for re-programming my bad habits. But—I can not live like this forever. I now know that for sure! I miss having a glass of wine and dark chocolate with my husband or besties. The gluten? I don’t miss that at all! I could skip sandwiches and toast for the rest of my life. I barely ate any bread before the Whole 30 anyway. Our family rarely eats sandwiches. When I buy bread, its from the local bakery and they use 5 ingredients so its “real” food! Have you ever read the label of grocery store bread? Did you know “cellulose” is wood pulp they add as fiber. Gross!
Another great benefit of the Whole 30 is new recipes! I’m loving www.paleOMG.com! My husband and I usually cook together on Sunday and its been fun trying new things! If you are a clean eater, you know that food prep is the key for success!! We spend 3-4 hours on Sunday or Monday, planning, shopping, cutting/cleaning and cooking so we have lots of food options during the week. In speaking with other people doing the Whole 30, they are discovering this and doing it! Gotta love that!
So this weekend we are headed to the mountains for a family retreat. I am having a glass of wine or two but vow to stay gluten free! A little dark chocolate won’t kill me either…right? I hope you are enjoying your journey in life, in fitness, and in food! Make it your own!!
